Collab is a concept store as much as a cafe, put together by people who understand hospitality properly. That shows in the ordinary details rather than in anything the place says about itself.

The coffee options are well rounded, and the breakfast and main menus are worth ordering from rather than putting up with. The aubergine meze is my favourite thing on the menu.

The shop half is part of the visit. They sell art-leaning pieces that turn over, so look on your way in or out — what is on the shelves now will not be what is there in a few months.

It sits across from Almaty Arts, which is the natural way to use it: come for brunch, or come in afterwards at whatever hour you finish.
