Hey,
I'm Sanzhar, born and raised in Almaty. For the past 12–15 years I've been drinking and brewing coffee, averaging two or three cups a day.
Among my friends I'm the go-to person for recommendations about good coffee, breakfast and food places.
Lately Almaty has started to attract visitors from around the world, so this project is my way of sharing some of that with you. We are properly into third-wave coffee here, and I don't want anyone leaving my hometown disappointed by the cup they drank in it.
Taste is subjective, obviously. But I don't go back to low-quality places, so what you see here are the ones I return to most often, with a few practical notes about each — whether it's laptop-friendly, that sort of thing.
