Go for the Soviet design and the pastries. A very good roastery, and plenty of space.

Aqqu means swan in Kazakh, and the name was once literal. The café that stood here from the middle of the last century looked onto a pond with swans on it, and going there was a small occasion — ice cream, juice, an afternoon outdoors. Then it burned down, and the site sat empty for decades.
What is here now is a rebuild, risen from that, and it takes its post-modernist styling seriously. The outdoor seating is excellent, which is the part of the original it carries forward best.
They have a cutting-edge roaster. Take some beans home with you — I have, and they are solid.
The breakfast menu is short and easy to read, which is its own kind of hospitality.
One warning: at weekend brunch time it is very busy.
